SEND IN A CHECK: You can send us a check to our address (1630 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC 28144) or you drop it in our secure mailbox located in the back parking lot.
ONLINE BANKING: Set Milford Hills UMC up as a payee. For the account put in what fund you are giving to, "General Fund," "Capital Campaign," "Memorial for _____," or "Property Improvement Fund." You can also make it reoccurring or a one-time gift. The bank then sends us a check in the mail and we will deposit it on the following Sunday.
REQUIRED MINIMUM DISTRIBUTION (RMD): If you are 73 years old or older, you probably know you must now take a RMD from your IRA. The IRS allows the RMD to be donated as a Qualifed Charitable Distribution (QCD) or a Charitable Rollover. Giving to the church through your RMD is a great benefit to you. The money doesn't pass through your hands and is not counted as taxable income, reducing your taxable income dollar for dollar of the charitable rollover (up to $100,000). If you plan on giving this way, please notify the church when to expect the check and designate that gift to where you would like it to be applied, e.g., General Budget, Property Improvement Fund, New Parsonage, etc.
DONOR-ADVISED FUND: You can work with the United Methodist Foundation of Western North Carolina to set up a Foundation Donor Advised Fund with as little as $1,000. You select the investment, where your fund grows tax-free at the UM Foundation. Add more to your fund anytime. Your contributions are tax-deductible and you advise distributions from your Donor Advised Fund to your church and other charities. 50% of annual distributions from the Foundation DAF must go to "ministries of Wesleyan heritage."
