Each applicant must be an active member (member for at least one year) of MILFORD HILLS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH and be enrolled full time in an undergraduate program at an accredited institution of higher education.
Applications are available in the church office.
Completed applications must be signed by the applicant and returned to the church no later than April 30.
Two letters of recommendation and a current transcript are required to be submitted with the application.
Each applicant will be interviewed by the Scholarship Committee during the month of April. The awarding of scholarships is then determined by the consensus of the committee, and the recipients will be notified by mail.
Each applicant will be awarded an equal amount based on the number of qualifying applicants; the maximum amount will not exceed $2000. Financial need of the applicant will not be considered.
Each scholarship will be divided into two payments: the first at the beginning of the school year and the second after the committee receives the first semester grade report. All payments will be paid to the parent(s) of the scholarship recipient.
